Regional Governor Oleh Synegubov in an online posting stated that at least 15 civilians including an eight-year-old child were killed in Ukraine’s Kharkiv region.
Kharkiv which is located in northeastern Ukraine borders Russia where many residents fled at the start of the Russian invasion and began to return after Russia tried to capture Ukraine’s second city were outraged.
Synegubov further added that fifteen people were expired and 16 were wounded in this terrible outcome of daytime Shelling in the Kharkiv region.
The injuries and the deaths took place in four separate incidents.
Six people had expired in and around Kharkiv, another six in Chuhuiv which is in the southeast of Kharkiv, and three had passed away in Zolochiv which is in the northwest of the city.
He added that this is terrorism and all these crimes against humanity would be severely penalized.
This incident comes as Russian forces seized the territory along a frontline river in Ukraine and increased pressure on two main cities.
This happened after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky forecasted that Moscow would surge the attacks ahead of an EU summit.
The Governor stated on Ukrainian television that the Russian army had assembled a sufficient amount of reserves to start a large-scale attack.
