It is believed that the Delhi-born batsman has made a full recovery from the virus at this point, since he just flew to the United Kingdom to participate in the postponed fifth Test match between India and England.
Former Indian captain Virat Kohli was offered a break by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) during India’s five-match Twenty20 International series against South Africa.
With his family in tow, Virat Kohli traveled to the Maldives with his wife Anushka Sharma and daughter Vamika.
On the other hand, the most recent rumors claim that Virat Kohli tested positive for cocaine use after his vacation had come to an end.
As per reports that a source close to the events revealed that the former Indian captain had tested positive for Covid-19 after returning from the Maldives, but that he has now recovered from the infection. The story states that the source corroborated this information.
It is also suspected that there might be further instances of Covid among the members of the Indian delegation, which would be a significant setback for the team captained by Rohit Sharma.
Ravichandran Ashwin is reported to be in isolation at the moment, but he is expected to join the rest of his teammates in Leicester, where the Indian contingent is currently practicing in advance of the fifth Test.
More recently, Ravichandran Ashwin missed his flight to the UK after testing positive for the virus.
For those who are unaware, India’s visit to England in 2021 also had to be cut short due to a similar circumstance, in which there was a covid panic in the Indian camp. This caused the trip to be cut short.
After that, India and England would compete against one another in a T20I series consisting of three matches and an ODI series with the same number of games.
The BCCI had then made the decision to postpone the fifth Test match of the series, and it will be played from July 1-5.
All of these efforts might be derailed, though, if covid turns out to be a problem, and it is still unknown whether or if there are any more instances in the Indian camp.
