After Kerala tops the Global Start-up Ecosystem Record at the Asian level, Chennai is close to entering the ranking of top 100 Start-ups globally.
The Global Start-up Ecosystem Index, 2022 was released, and Chennai ranked 102nd on the list.
With a massive jump of 31 places, the state is now about to enter the top 100 on the list.
According to the experts, the state is now one of the emerging global destinations for start-up ventures.
According to the list- Pune is in the 90th position, Hyderabad at 97th, Bengaluru at 8th position, New Delhi at 13th, and Mumbai at 17th.
A total of 5 states are already on the top 100 ranking list.
How has Chennai improved its environment for Start-ups
There are various reasons for Chennai to improve itself as a start-up and make its way close to the top 100 rankings:

starting start-ups like the Unicorn, and exits.

If the growth is maintained, the state will overtake Pune and Hyderabad.
The global record finds that Unicorn has achieved the status of 540 companies, 150 in 2020, which means at least one Unicorn produced by 113 start-ups.
Chennai is known as the “software as service capital of India.” Software technology will make its way to achieving start-up within the state.
IIT- Madras Incubation Center is one of the start-ups for best incubators in India.

Goa and Patna have 272 and 218 start-ups. Both the state achieved 500th and 522nd positions.
