According to a statement from Meta, Reels APIs will be made available to developers at a maximum of endpoints on Instagram. The company asserted that after learning about Reels which is now a top priority from its developer’s community, it is delivering the new Reel APIs. Now Reels’ assistance from Meta is available for posting content, insights, the moderation of the comment, hashtags search, company discovery, mentions, and a lot more.
The APIs will permit developers to arrange Reels and obtain Reels’ social engagement stats. Developers can publish Reels on Instagram Business Accounts using these new APIs. Developers will also be able to reply to comments and do the needful like hiding, deleting, etc. It can also allow or deactivate comments on Reels using the APIs. Also, the developers will be able to find publicly accessible Reels marked with specific hashtags.
The Instagram Graph API, which allows the developers to associate their apps with Instagram’s features and performance, will be available for both the current and previous versions. Reels will automatically be accessible for developers with access to the appropriate APIs, as stated by Meta. If an app’s permission access levels have already been sanctioned, developers won’t need to submit it for another round for the review of the app.
All Reels APIs will be available to about 25% of Instagram user accounts. The APIs will slowly be made available to all the users by 6th July.
