Zubair is sent to four days police custody on Tuesday for not answering the questions of the police.
On Tuesday the Delhi metropolitan magistrate has released an order against Mohammad wasn’t cooperating with the police during the interrogation and his mobile and the laptops is been taken into custody. Mohammad Zubair is the co-founder of the Alt News. He is sent to four days police custody for not being obedient and in the year 2018 he was taken into custody for posting very objectionable tweet. Zubair’s lawyer Vrinda Grover said that the questions were not related to the case which the police officers were asking during the interrogation. She also commented on the allegations which are put on him is that the images which he has used and posted it in an online platform ,this is  from a Bollywood movie and this is the reason which the police are giving for arresting him. Zubair has been arrested recently for the controversial statement on Prophet Mohammad given by after Nupur Sharma, BJP spokesperson and she got arrested on Monday. Zubair has been charged under sections 153A (promoting hatred among religious groups.), 295 (damaging religious temples with an intention of insult of any class) of IPC. Police has extended Zubair’s judicial custody for almost five days and the police have given their statement to the court that he was also following the trend along with others and started hurting religious sentiments of the religious communities to gain followers. The police also mentioned his intentions of hurting religious sentiments and create social disharmony. Police also mentioned about the apps that he deleted the apps and other materials from his phone. The case was mainly filed against him by a tweeter handle named Hanuman Bhakt mentioning about Zubair’s posts saying he was posting doubtable images with an intention of hurting Hindu sentiments. The lawyer of Zubair told that the claims are meant to insult his client and harass him in different ways. She also mentioned about the image that has been used by many people and his not the only one, she said he has been harassed because of his work. Zubair said in the court that they have checked his laptop because he was challenging the people around for many things, the laptop has no business with this case and because I am a journalist they are doing this and they want a detailed enquiry.Â
