Google is in trouble with developers over the money they made creating apps. Google is agreeing to pay off their money. The total amount must be around 90 million dollars. According to the court filing, they made this by creating apps for the company as well as enticing users to make in-app purchases. These purchases benefits the company.Â
The creators had gave a lawsuit in federal court at San Francisco. They accuse the tech giant of mishandling agreements of smartphone creators, technical barriers and also revenue sharing agreements to end the app ecosystem effectively as well as shunt most payments through their Play billing system with their fee.
 A settlement for googleÂ
A settlement was proposed, Google in their blog post said it would put 90 million dollars in funds for app developers who made 2 million dollars or less in annual revenue from 2016-2021 to support. They said in their post that a majority of U.S. developers who made revenue through play store will be able to get a certain amount from the fund, if they want.Â
The court has agreed to the proposed settlement. Google said they also can charge developers a 15% of commission on their first million from the play store each year.Â
Apple last year to loosen the restrictions of the app store on small developers by making a deal. It was chose on the deal to pay 100 million dollars.
The congress in Washington is considering legislation that might require google as well as apple to allow side loading, or practice downloading apps without using their app store. Google said they are already side loading. It would also bar them from needing app providers to use their paying system.
