Fourth generation K-pop boy group, Enhypen made their 4th comeback with ‘Manifesto : Day 1’ on 4th July 2022.
One of the biggest 4th generation K-pop group from South Korea under BELIFT LAB, Enhypen makes their 4th comeback since debut. Enhypen released their EP a week after announcing their world tour. “Manifesto : Day 1” is the name of their 3rd EP released on 4th July 2022.
The new album contains six tracks, namely, ‘WALK THE LINE’, ‘Future Perfect (Pass the MIC)’, ‘ParadoXXX Invasion’, ‘TFW (That Feeling When)’, ‘SHOUT OUT’ and ‘Foreshadow.’ Group member, Jake, was a part of writing the lyrics of ‘Shout Out.’
Jake added that he was thinking of Engene (fans of Enhypen) while writing the lyrics for the track. He also mentioned, ‘Shout Out’ is his favorite track on the album. Apart from Jake contributing to the lyrics for ‘Shout Out’, all of the members openly suggested interesting and unique ideas for the album, performance stage and the album cover design for the Engene Version. They also helped create the choreography for Future Perfect.
Enhypen dropped a music video for ‘Future Perfect (Pass the MIC)’ along with the album. The importance of unity cannot be overstated. The song begins with an epiphany in which the protagonists realize they despise conformity instead want to follow their own paths. It expresses their brave resolve and determination that they deserve to be loved through their skills and abilities, and that they will use their power not only for themselves but also for others.
Enhypen performs powerful hip-hop choreography in the music video. They also fight the five hooded evil using their supernatural abilities which they acquired. The genre, Chicago drill, was different for everyone and they worked hard to nail it.
More about the album
‘Walk the Line,’ the opening tune, is a hip hop song. There is a track with the same name on Enhypen’s debut album, but it is different. This demonstrates their intent to disregard the established rules.
‘ParadoXXX Invasion’ is the third track after ‘Future Perfect (Pass the MIC)’. It’s a rhythmic, old school hip hop tune. Heesung commented that this is his favorite track, it’s really addictive, and the members’ voices make the track extra special. If you look closely at the words, you’ll notice that it pokes fun at adults who think teenagers are immature.
Fourth track ‘TFW (That Feeling When)’ is a summery, romantic music about youthful passion. For the vibe, Sunoo imagined a breeze blowing through the window and watching the sunset. Next is ‘Shout Out’ which Jake worked on. It is an alternative rock music dedicated to the fans of Enhypen. The song is ideal for interacting with their fans at concerts.
‘Foreshadow’ is the final track/outro. It’s a dark song, but it’s still hopeful. The members struggled to convey themselves in three languages: Japanese, Korean, and English. However, it enhanced the song’s immersion. Enhypen is demonstrating their various sides through the various genres of their songs.
