At least six dead and dozens wounded in one of the worst mass shootings in Illinois history during a mass gathering attending the Fourth of July parade at Highland Park. Police arrested Robert E. “Bobby” Crimo III, 22, eight hours after the Chicago Parade Shooting.
Six people were killed and over three dozen hospitalized in a mass shooting at a US Independence Day parade in a wealthy Chicago suburb on Monday. Police arrested a gunman named Robert Crimo, 22, peacefully on U.S. 41 at Westleigh Road in Lake Forest after a massive manhunt across the town of Highland Park in Illinois.
The “Person of Interest” connected to the Chicago Parade Shooting was taken into police custody after a brief car chase. He used a “high-powered rifle” from a rooftop onto a crowd attending Highland Park’s parade on July fourth. The suspect used a ladder attached to the building wall in an alley and started shooting at parade-goers after reaching the rooftop.
As per the sources, the parade began at around 10 a.m. but was suddenly halted 10 minutes after heavy gunshots were fired. Local reporters saw blankets placed over three bloodied bodies. There was severe gunfire, as per the locals.
