Horror and Stephen King fans, it is time to rejoice because the brothers have decided to adapt their fantasy horror novel, The Talisman on-screen. The story of The Talisman follows a 12-year-old male character named Jack who goes on a fantastical journey to find a magical piece of stone to cure his mother from the clutches of a deathly illness. In order to do so, Jack makes his journey to an alternate universe named ‘The Territories’ where every human being existing in the real world has a doppelganger in the alternate universe. What more? The residents of the alternate universe can easily alter realities and can voluntarily enter into the body of their counterparts which hinders the quest of the young boy. The book describes the adventurous journey into these alternate worlds and it also features a werewolf.
In an interview given to Deadline, Matt Duffer stated that the story of the Talisman is more fantasy in nature if compared to that of Stranger Things and the setting of Hawkins but still packs in a power punch of both horror and sci-fi. The credit for the creation has been attributed to co-executive producer and writer of Stranger Things, Curtis Gwinn who is speculated to pen down parts of the scripts for the new project.
Fans are now wildly waiting for the final season of Stranger Things and even though they are quite restless, they have found respite in the news of the Duffer brothers taking up and moving forward with exciting new projects.
