Marvel Studios Announced The Release of Avengers Secret Wars at the San Diego Comic-Con to the delight and surprise of the fans who were wild with excitement and joy.Â
Announcement Of Marvel During The Comic Con
During the blockbuster annual San Diego Comic Can, the fantastic Marvel Studios panel headed by President Kevin Feige took to the stage to announce the upcoming films of the Marvel Cinematic Universe that would be released on the silver screen of theatres and streamed on Disney+.
Kevin Feige surprised the Comic-Con pop convention crowd with the announcement of Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Secret War which would showcase in the theatres on November 7th, 2025. The 6000-capacity crowd at the convention Hall H emerged into thunderous applause and wild cheer.
However, the crowd was given a full package of surprises as the Marvel Panel unveiled the teaser for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. A tribute was paid by Director Ryan Coogler to the first star of Black Panther, the late Chadwick Boseman who passed away in 2020 from cancer. Additionally, they announced the release of Avengers: Kang Dynasty that would accompany Avengers: Secret War by releasing in 2025.
They highlighted and hinted towards some of the nearer release films like the third film of Ant-Man and the Wasp alongside a film titled Quantumania.
An End To Phase Four For The Marvel Cinematic Universe
The officials of Marvel Studios have confirmed that the release of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever would mark the end of Phase Four of the Marvel Cinematic Universe or MCU. They promised the fans that it would set the backdrop for what Phase Five of the Cinematic Universe would be like. However, they did not reveal the lineup for Phase Five but directly jumped right into Phase Six.
Meanwhile, the release of Avengers: Secret Wars would commemorate the end of Phase Six with its release slated to be on 7th November 2025.
End Of An Era For The Russo Brothers
The iconic directors, the Russo Brothers have been an eminent aspect of the Marvel Cinematic Studios having directed the record-breaking blockbusters of Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame.
Unfortunately to the disappointment of MCU fans, Kevin Feige has quashed the dreams of the Russo Brothers. He took to announce that Anthony and Joe Russo would not be returning as directors for Secret Wars or Kang Dynasty. However, the President of Marvel Cinematic Universe confirmed that they would love to work with the Russo Brothers again.
Previously, the Russo Brothers had talked about their wish to work on something on the scale of Infinity War. They spoke about how they wished to direct something along the lines of Infinity War with heroes and villains teaming up together. For the time being their dream shall remain as one. Reports state that the Russo Brothers and Marvel Studios still share a love for each other and could not collaborate due to schedule clashes.
Phase 4 and Phase 6 Plans Revealed By Marvel
With the 2019 Avengers: Endgame emerging as a blockbuster grossing over 2.79 Billion Dollars, the Marvel Cinematic Universe is aiming towards an even bigger hit with their new releases of Avengers: Secret War and Avengers: Kang Dynasty in 2025.
The Marvel Studios’ will hope to follow in the footsteps of Avengers: Endgame and round off the storylines of the films slated to release in both Phase 5 and 6 of the Cinematic Universe. They will hope to finish off the second saga, The Multiverse Saga of Marvel with these two films.
