Jules Kounde has agreed to play for the Catalonian club under the Spanish tactian Xavi Hernandez.
As reported by many media reports, FC Barcelona has again beaten Chelsea to acquire the signature of the French center-back.
FC Barcelona has been quite busy in this summer. Till now they have signed the Polish striker, Robert Lewandowski, Leeds Brazilian winger Raphinha, Chelsea center-back Andy Christensen, and Ivorian footballer Frank Kessie.
As per the latest reports, 23-year-old French center-back has joined the Spanish club for 50 million euros plus add-ons between five to ten million euros.
The 23-year-old defender will sign a four-year-contract with the Catalonian club. This will enable the Spanish giants to acquire the services of young French center-back till the end of 2026 season.
This young center-back attracted many suitors from Europe, including FC Barcelona’s this season’s transfer market rival Chelsea. Chelsea is rumoured with many defenders to consolidate their backline. But once again they have failed to sign a player in which Barcelona was interested.
Even the Chelsea’s head coach Thomas Tuchel has been quite vocal about the lack of squad depth by Chelsea. He also been publicly open about transfer inactivity in the North London Club.
He has stated that he has never lost a game in a pre-season in his managerial career and He isn’t satisfied with the preparation and says the team is not ready for the season. This statement came after Chelsea lost 4-0 to Arsenal, a club which won’t play UEFA Champions League this season.
Sevilla will boost financially with the transfer of this talismanic French center-back. The club is about to jump in the financial crisis. But now with more than 50 million euros of transfer fees, the club can be in a more stable position.
Jules Kounde, playing for the Spanish club Sevilla has featured more than 130 times in all the competitions. He has also managed to bag a European royalty to his personal trophy cabinet. He won UEFA Europa League with Sevilla in the 2019-20 footballing season.
Joining Barcelona seems to be the next best step for his career as now he can aim for clinching more bigger trophies. Many football pundits and fans are getting excited to see the center back pairing of Ronald Araujo and Jules Kounde.
