Shailesh Lodha left a large number of fans heartbroken when he left the Sab TV sitcom Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma. Lodha has been playing the role of Taarak Mehta, who was not only a key character but also the narrator of the story in the series since the first episode in 2008.
Taarak Mehta ka Ooltah Chashma is one of the longest-running shows on television and recently completed 14 years. Its first episode aired in 2008 and has been running successfully since then. The show completed 3300 episodes last year.
Shailesh Lodha’s decision to leave the show left his co-workers and his fans upset. While Lodha has remained silent about his reasons for leaving the show, multiple issues led him to take this decision
One of the reasons was that he was not happy with his exclusive contract with the show. He had been missing out on different opportunities and was not able to take up any new projects.
Another reason for his exit was that he felt that his dates weren’t being utilized properly by the makers of the show. He also felt that he was not being provided enough footage despite being an important part of the show for 14 years.
Despite producer Asit Kumar Modi’s constant efforts to convince him and get him back on the show, Shailesh Lodha has made up his mind and won’t be returning to the show to play his character.
Also, this isn’t the very first time that an actor who has been part of this show has decided to leave. Earlier, Disha Vakani, who played the role of Jethalal’s wife Dayaben, Neha Mehta, aka Anjali, Gurucharan Singh, who played the role of Roshan Singh Sodhi, Nidhi Bhanushali, aka Sonu, and Bhavya Gandhi, who played the role of Tappu, also left the show for one or the other reason.
Considering all these departures from the show, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma seems to be in a very difficult situation, and hopefully, things will turn out good for the show.
