Taiwan claimed it was allowed to make friends and keep relationships with nations throughout the world as background to the sovereignty.
On Sunday, Taiwan expressed its “sincere appreciation” to all nations that have expressed deep worry about China’s most recent aggressive military posture across the Taiwan Strait.
Following US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan’s capital, Beijing this week held extraordinary war simulations surrounding the self-ruled democracy it claims as its own in a hail of wrath.
According to an announcement from Taiwan, the People’s Republic of China was created in 1949, while the Republic of China was created in 1912. “After World War II, Taiwan was given back to the Republic of China in 1945.
Taiwan is governed by the Republic of China and the Chinese Communist Regime has never once claimed sovereignty over it. As a result, Taiwan and China each operate according to different sets of democratic and autocratic laws.
Therefore, the People’s Republic of China’s assertion of Taiwan’s sovereignty is justified and untrue. These are not only universally acknowledged truths but also the long-standing status quo on the other side of Taiwan Strait, it stated.
Taiwan’s Reply to China
Taiwan asserted that it had a right to establish and keep friendships with other nations.
The People’s Republic of China’s ongoing efforts to bully and threaten other nations into shunning Taiwan highlight the reality that the People’s Republic of China itself rejects Taiwan’s claim to be a part of China, further deflating the sham and baseless claims of the so-called “One China” Principle, it said.
It also stated that recent deliberate increases in China’s military posturing toward Taiwan have seriously damaged regional stability and peace on both sides of the Taiwan Strait.
In order to defend the principles of freedom and democracy, uphold the rules-based international order, and ensure a free and open Indo-Pacific, it said, “We earnestly call on the international community to cooperatively criticize China’s irrational army aggressive actions and urge all nations to continue speaking out in support of democratic Taiwan.”
The statement said: “The government of the Republic of China (Taiwan) wishes to express heartfelt thanks to the executive branches and parliamentarians of more than 50 nations (including India) who have called on all ends to exercise restraint, de-escalate unrest, avoid retaliatory measures to change the status quo, and maintain peace and stability in the region.
According to it, Taiwan will calmly reply to China’s irrational military threats, vehemently defend Taiwan’s sovereignty and national security, and guard the front lines of democracy and freedom without engaging in acts of escalation or provocation.
The statement read, “In the face of evolving developments, the government of Taiwan will continue to strengthen its capacity for self-defense while having a close communication and coordination with the US, Japan and all other like-minded countries, including India, to jointly maintain the rules-based international order and defend security across the Taiwan Strait and consolidate peace, stability, and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific.
