India created history by erecting the world’s largest human flag at the cricket stadium in Sector-16, Chandigarh on Saturday. It created a world record by registering the country’s name in golden letters in the Guinness Book of World Records. Earlier this record was held by the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Punjab Governor and Chandigarh Administrator Banwarilal Purohit were also present on the occasion organized under the Amrit Mahotsav of Independence.

The nation is preparing for the 75th Independence Day on August 15. People and various organizations have already started celebrating in their own ways. some people are hoisting the tricolour at their homes, others are marking the day on a grander scale.
Chandigarh University (CU) students started gathering at the cricket stadium along with students from other schools and colleges from Saturday morning. Some of the students are ocher, some are white and some are green. Some also wore light brown clothes.During the event, Administrator Banwarilal Purohit was accompanied by Minister of State for External Affairs Meenakshi Lekhi, CU Chancellor Satnam Sandhu, Advisor to Administrator Dharampal, DC Vinay Pratap Singh, Mayor Sarabjit Kaur. Banwarilal Purohit said It is a matter of pride for all of us.
A total of more than 5000 students reached the stadium and started making pictures of the human flag. After a while, a triangular shape was formed while working inside the stadium. Students dressed in ocher, white and green made the flags, then the first students in brown took their positions in the stadium in the form of flagpoles. A large number of city dwellers reached the stadium to see this scene.
World record announcement time:-The human flag achievement was announced from the stage at 11:35 am.At around 11:30 am the attempt was officially made in the Guinness Book of World Records. Guinness Book of World Records Official Judge Swapnil Dangrikar was also present on the occasion.
Administrator Banwarilal Purohit said, this human flag world record has given a great message to the whole world.He congratulated the organizers of the event for this. All citizens have also been called upon to take a pledge to dedicate themselves to nation building on August 15.

Independence day :- It was on 15th August 1947 that India was declared independent from British colonialism. This Independence Day is going to be very special and Celebrating the 75th Amrit Mahotsav of Independence.
The government is also carrying out initiatives to promote its Har Ghar Tiranga campaign to instil a feeling of patriotism among the citizens and encourage them to hoist and display the national flags at their offices as well as residences.It has been many decades since the country became independent and during this time the country has made its mark all over the world on every front.
