The Flash actor expresses apologies and admits to undergoing complex mental health treatment.
In the midst of a growing list of legal issues and allegations of erratic behavior, actor Ezra Miller has broken their silence, stating that they are seeking treatment for “complex mental health issues.”
Ezra has apologized to everyone who has been ‘alarmed and upset’ by their previous behavior, according to a statement provided by the actor’s representative.
“Having recently gone through a time of intense crisis, I now understand that I am suffering from complex mental health issues and have begun ongoing treatment,” Miller says.
I want to apologize to everyone that I have been alarmed and upset by my past behavior. I am committed to doing the necessary work to get back to a healthy, safe, and productive stage in my life.”
The troubled actor, who is non-binary and uses they and them pronouns, played the DC Comics character Barry Allen in 2017’s “Justice League” and its 2021 counterpart, “Zack Snyder’s Justice League.”
But their role in the comic book franchise has been overlooked by their off-screen behavior, which has the actor’s alarmed friends and associates, as well as Warner Bros, the studio behind “The Flash.”
Miller was recently charged with felony burglary in Vermont after state police investigated an incident in which several bottles of alcohol were stolen from a Stamford residence on May 1 while the homeowners were not present.

Ezra was apprehended by police on August 7, and he was issued a citation to appear in Vermont Superior Court on September 26 for arraignment.
This year, Ezra has been at the center of several scandals.
In Hawaii this spring, the actor was arrested twice, first for disorderly conduct and harassment at a karaoke bar in March, and then for second-degree assault less than a month later.
Miller pled no contest to a single count of misdemeanor disorderly conduct in the first case and paid a $500 fine and $30 in court costs.
The charge of harassment was dropped. Miller was released without charge in the second case.
The parents of 18-year-old activist Tokata Iron Eyes also filed a protection order against Miller earlier this year, accusing the actor in a court of holding sway over their child through “violence, intimidation, and the threat of violence, fear, paranoia, delusions, and drugs”.
Tokata Iron Eyes recently confirmed to Insider that those allegations were false.

The scandals have become a public relations nightmare not only for Miller but also for Warner Bros, Discovery, which hired Ezra for two of its biggest franchises, DC Comics films and the “Harry Potter” spinoff series “Fantastic Beasts.”
To deal with the current situation, Warner Bros. devised three options. As per a report in The Hollywood Reporter, Warner Bros’s first option required Ezra to seek complex mental health counseling and then give “an interview at some point explaining their erratic behavior over the past few years.”
The second alternative was that if Ezra refused professional help, the studio wouldn’t involve them in the film’s promotions. As per the third option, the film would be scrapped to avoid bad publicity.
A source confirmed that Warner Bros was supporting Miller’s decision to seek complex mental health professional help.
The Flash is set to be released on 23 June 2024 and reportedly features appearances by Ben Affleck and Michael Keaton, both playing Batman.
