- Gangubai Kathyabadi (Netflix )

Based on a chapter from Hussain Zaidi’s book, The Mafia Queens of Mumbai, Directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali shows the journey of Gangubai, played by Alia Bhatt, who was forced into prostitution at an early age. She goes on to become a fierce madam of the brothel and a political leader in Kamathipura enhanced by the beautiful visual set design and melodious music. The film also stars Ajay Devgn, Shantanu, Vijay Raaz, Seema Pahwa, and Indira Tiwari in pivotal roles.Â

Helmed by Vineeth Sreenivasan, Hridayam is a romantic drama starring Pranav Mohanlal, Kalyani Priyadarshan, and Darshana Rajendran with a screenplay packed with 15 songs a movie that still can feel like a breeze, you know it’s something special. The story follows the life of a youngster named Arun Neelakandan from his college days to being a father.

 A Thursday, starring Yami Gautam as a schoolteacher in Mumbai, is an action-packed crime thriller. In the film, the school teacher has kidnapped 16 pre-nursery kids and is threatening to kill them one by one, if her demands are not met. The film creates great suspense. Vivek Agnihotri’s The Kashmir Files created the most noise upon its release. The film starring Anupam Kher, Mithun Chakraborty, Darshan Kumaar, Pallavi Joshi, and Chinmay Mandlekar, narrates the story of Kashmiri Pandits who were forced to flee from the Valley in the late 80s and 90s. The film was released in theaters on 11th March 2022.
