Sonipat police have arrested three Khalistani aides under UAPA, IPC Sec 120B, and Arms act for perpetrating targeted murders and creating an atmosphere of terror in Punjab.
Three men were arrested by the Haryana police as a suspected tie to pro-Khalistani outfits. On Saturday, the arrests were made from Juan village in Haryana’s Sonipat district. They were in touch with pro-Khalistani; they were named Sagar alias Binni, Sunil alias Pahalwan, and Jatin alias Rajesh.
Under sections 17, 18, 19, 20, and 21 of the UAPA [Unlawful Activities Prevention Act], plus with Section 120-B of the IPC [Indian Penal Code] and relevant sections of the Arms Act, all the three accused have been booked.
SP Rahul Sharma Sonipat said they contacted terror organizations International Sikh Youth Federation and Khalistan Tiger Force. As per police, they were getting contracts of perpetrating targeted killings in Punjab through social media and already had a criminal record of murdering a man in Punjab’s Morinda on 8th December.
A source familiar with the case said that they were receiving funding and arms from overseas to aid terror activities in Punjab and other parts of the country.
