On Sunday people of Nagaon town in Assam witnessed Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati on the streets protesting against the price rise on a Royal Enfield Bullet.
On Sunday a man dressed as Lord Shiva along with his wife who dressed as Goddess Parvati, appeared on the streets of Nagaon town in Assam on a Royal Enfield Bullet performing a nukkad Natak, against the price rise. But this didn’t go well for him as he was arrested for hurting religious sentiments.
The Natak was performed mainly to highlight the issues of inflation. This controversy comes amid countrywide outrage about the smoking kali picture in a documentary movie by director Leena Manimekalai.
There was a strong protest about the incident from the Nagaon district units of Bajrang Dal and Vishwa Hindu Parishad, who said that the Natak had hurt the sentiments of Sanatan Dharma. Later, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma entered the scene and ordered the Nagaon Police to release the person on bail.
The man dressed as Lord Shiva took a dig at Prime Minister Modi and said that his government was working only for the capitalist and was not interested to know about the issues of the common people. He also urged the people present in the scene to hit the street against inflation.
Later, a complaint was registered against the actor and his wife by Viswa Hindu Parishad for hurting religious sentiments on the basis of which the duo was arrested.Â
