The floodgates for a new war of words were opened when Indian National Congress Party’s leader Rahul Gandhi commented on the party’s alliance with the Indian Union Muslim League and credited the party as a secular forum.
The comments were made when the Congress leader was asked about his party’s alliance and former coalition partner of the government in Kerala, the Indian Union Muslim League.

During his visit to the United States of America, Mr Rahul Gandhi engaged with students, journalists and many other individuals. He has addressed many policy and political matters concerning the county and his latest remarks have added fuel to the Bharatiya Janata Party’s offensive against him.
While addressing journalists from the National Press Club in Washington, the leader of the Indian National Congress Party was asked about his party’s alliance with IUML in Kerala for which he commented that the Indian Union Muslim League was a completely secular party and there was nothing non-secular about them.
These comments are now being focused on by the governing Bharatiya Janata Party in their offensive against the Congress Party and its leader Rahul Gandhi.

With the launch of a large-scale attack on Rahul Gandhi the BJP and its supporters have responded. Senior party officials were seen condemning Mr Gandhi’s statement Former Minister of Law and current Minister of Earth Sciences, Mr Kiren Rijiju called the statement extremely unfortunate,
The Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Brajesh Pathak thought that Mr Gandhi’s statements were very saddening and that the people of the nation will not accept this insulting of the nation on foreign soil. BJP’s spokesperson and head of the Party’s IT cell, Amit Malviya said that the need for the congress leader to remain acceptable among the people in the constituency of Wayanad made him say so.

Congress leaders were quick to point out the errors in the BJP leaders’ attack. He stated that the Indian Union Muslim League and Mohammed Ali Jinnah’s Muslim League are two completely different parties.
Many congress supporters have come forward with reports of how the Bharatiya Janata Party included the Indian Union Muslim League to retain power in Nagpur Municipal Corporation in 2012.
Chairperson of the Indian National Congress Party’s social media platforms, Supriya Srinate called Amit Malviya a fake news peddler and that they can spend their nights sleepless following updates from Rahul Gandhi’s successful trip to the United States.
IUML vs AIML

The Indian Union Muslim League, the one which has an alliance with the Congress party, and the other Muslim league that ultimately played a major role in the partition of India.
The Indian Union Muslim League is a political party formed in 1948 after India’s independence was a faction formed by the Indian Muslims who chose to side with India amidst the partition. The then President of the Madras Muslim League M. Muhammed Ismail was chosen as its convenor.
The party has considerable influence in both Kerala and West Bengal, and in addition, they have a presence in Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh and Assam.The party allied with the Indian National Congress in 1976, after leaving the Left coalition.
In the aftermath of the Babri Masjid demolition, the leader of IUML Panakkad Muhammed Ali Shihab Thangal plead to Muslims in Kerala to maintain peace and as a result Kerala remained peaceful throughout.
The Kerala University of Sanskrit was established by Minister E. T Mohammed Bashir in 1993 and E. Ahamed, a prominent Member of Parliament represented India at the United Nations on the instructions of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
