The stake of BJP depends on the popularity of CM Yogi Adityanath and PM Narendra Modi.
As the elections are around the corner for Uttar Pradesh, all the political parties secure their state of action for the voters of Uttar Pradesh. One of the populated states where people get hopes and promises from the political leaders is now thriving for the first phase of the election. On 10 February 2022, the first phase of elections will be conducted in Uttar Pradesh.
Over time, the state faced a majority term of political tumult, wherein parties held public meetings and often gave their messages to the people out there in UP. The aspiration was quite simple to garner attention and votes from the public.
The elections held in the state of Uttar Pradesh have transverse the state into a ring of an arena of political parties, with the people as the audience and the prize for the political party.
Criticism towards BJP
Before the Uttar Pradesh elections in 2022, the Bharatiya Janata Party got criticized for their commendable actions in the state. People residing there frequently witnessed sectarian tensions reflected by the workers of BJP. The state has also seen some severe administrative issues at the pandemic point.
Even the PMO has also been reprimanded for his action to not look over the state of Uttar Pradesh while the pandemic was knocking on the door of the people. According to Milan Vaishnav, director prize of the South Asia program at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, “Short of a general election in India, it’s the single biggest political prize on offer.” The statement square of the view for the people of UP as wholesome of prize for any political party that will be in the majority at Uttar Pradesh Elections.
During the tenure of the current government, the death rate due to Coronavirus in the state was more than five lakhs; in addition to it, the healthcare system of the whole state was slowly collapsing due to faulty layers of corruption, due to this, the people of the state were not happy with the system driven by the BJP-led government.
As per Vaishnav, the voter viewed the state as a mid-term referendum in Yogi Adityanath.
A vision of Modi that made UP a state to win
With all those faults and errors, BJP still dawned on the integral kingdom of Uttar Pradesh, as the seat collection of the state suggests; 19% of UP’s population is Muslim, and the rest is Hindu and others combined. This gives BJP an affirmative point to enact and deliver its message to the people.
Places such as Bareilly, Jaunpur, and Chaundasi have wholeheartedly captured the notion of Hindutva, making the people trust the party and the leader both at the same time. As of now, during the first poll there were approximately 7.93% of voters crowded the polling booth till 9 A.M. A New Delhi based journalist said that “it’s (UP) home to these Hindu holy sites, which in many ways functioned as the nerve center of the BJP’s Hindu politics.”
Narendra Modi transformed the state into a place of tourism and kept the momentary monuments and temples very original for the people to grasp the attention. His vision was evident to enrich the people of Uttar Pradesh to consume and overwhelm the culture and heritage preserved in the state. Many political analysts say it was hard to determine who held the highest position in this race.
Still, the result is precise: BJP will mold this race according to its feasibility. According to the analyst, it is being predicted that the ruling party may view the tactics of Adityanath as “the successful prototype for a Chief Minister to play.” If BJP won the elections in Uttar Pradesh, it would be a concrete win for the Bharatiya Janata Party, giving them an absolute majority of support in the state. The success will also create and furnish Yogi Adityanath as one of the tallest leaders of the BJP.
A tussle with the competitors
The competition at the state is quite fascinating. As in the arena, there is not just one but many other opponents contesting the same Uttar Pradesh elections. Whether its BJP, Congress, Samajwadi Party, or the Azad Samaj Party. Amidst all these parties, one of the biggest rivalries is between BJP and the Samajwadi Party; both the parties are well established and confined within the state.
Also, the parties’ candidates, i: e Yogi Adityanath and Akhilesh Yadav for BJP and Samajwadi Party, respectively, are strong and respected. So, the tussle war between these two political giants would be seen during the different phases of the election. Yet people of Uttar Pradesh are still hoping that governance of the state would keep their hopes alive.
