The leaked video has lashed out a series of attacks between BJP and AAP. Satyendra Jain’s legal team moves to the Special Court alleging ED leaking the video.
Aam Aadmi Party Minister Satyendra Jain was arrested earlier in May this year by the Enforcement Directorate alleging a money laundering case under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002. Minister Satyendra Jain has been kept in the Tihar Jail in New Delhi. Recently, A CCTV video has been doing rounds all over the internet where the Delhi Minister is seen getting a full body massage inside his room in the Tihar Jail. The video has surfaced just two days after the Bhartiye Janta Party demanded to shift him to another jail.
The CCTV video which reads the date as 13 September shows a man giving foot massage to Satyendra Jain while he is lying on his bed and going through some papers. The video has emerged a series of questions on the alleged VIP Culture inside the premises of jails. Moreover, the political heat has boiled up again with National Parties bashing each other with remarks and questions in front of the public.
Earlier, the Enforcement Directorate had moved to the court accusing Minister Satyendra Jain of getting a special treatment in the Tihar Jail. Filig an afidavit in the Court, the ED mentioned that the AAP Minister Satyendra Jain was taking unfair advantage of his position as the Jail Minister to bend the rules of the jail. The ED had also submitted the video to the Court alleging the VIP treatment of Minister Satyendra Jain. Following the investigation, Ajit Kumar who is the Suprintendent of Tihar Jail was suspened over the row. The Trial Court had specifically ordered the ED and Mr. Jain’s legal team to not leak any content of the affidavit nor the video regarding the case.
However, there were no restrictions passed for the media in this regard.
BJP vs AAP
Bhartiye Janta Party has taken the opportunity to attack the Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and the Aam Aadmi Party Over the video. BJP National spokesperson Shezad Poonawala took twitter to upload a video of Mr Satyendra Jain getting a foot massage which was followed by a back and a full head massage by man. Shehzad Poonawala along with the video wrote, “So instead of Sazaa – Satyendra Jain was getting full VVIP Mazaa ? Massage inside Tihar Jail? Hawalabaaz who hasn’t got bail for 5 months get head massage !Violation of rules in a jail run by AAP Govt.” Mr Poonawala also wrote that the video showcases the true face of the Aam Aadmi Party.
Another BJP spokeperson, Gaurav Bhatia said that the Aam Aadmi Party has become “spa and massage” party now. He also challenged the Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to exlplain Mr. Jain’s conduct of jail.”Where is Arvind Kejriwal hiding now. Satyendar Jain can be seen enjoying massage and meeting visitors in his cell in total violation of rules and prison laws. This VVIP culture in jail is dangerous for democracy,” Gauav Bhatia in a press conference.
Among all the allegations and questions the Aam Aadmi Party and Delhi’s Deputy Chielf Minister, Manish Sisodia talked to the media after the release of the video. Mr. Sisodia said the video is a stunt from the Bhartiye Janta Party to distract the public from the upcoming Assembly Eelctions in Gujurat. He also said that the video was leaked against the Court’s Directives. Explaining the video, Manish Sisodia on twitter stated that AAP Minister Satyendra Jain has been advised regular Physiotherapy by the doctors due to Spine Injury surgeries in the past.
Jain Moves to Court against ED
AAP Minister Satyendra Jain’s legal team moved to the Special Court seeking Contempt of action against the Enforcement Directorate. The team made allegations that the ED had leaked the video of Minister Satyendra Jain getting massage in the jail despite the undertaking given in the court from both parties. Special Judge Vikas Dhull issued a notice to the Enforcement Directorate and fixed the hearing for November 21.
