Five days after Sidhu Musewala’s murder, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Thursday told the Punjab and Haryana High Court that he is going to restore security to all 424 VIPs from June 7. Which was temporarily withdrawn for the Ghalughara program in Amritsar.
Aam Admi government told the Punjab and Haryana high court, which heard an appeal by previous minister OP Singh, who is among the 424 whose security was reversed.

The high court is hearing an appeal submitted by former deputy chief minister of Punjab and congress leader, Om Prakash Soni, seeking a changing of the order dated 11 May 2022, where in his ‘Z’ category security is de- categorized.
Madhu Dayal, the advocate, and counsel for soni faced before the high court that the Punjab police withdraw the security cover of 184 previous ministers and erstwhile MLA on a “select and choose basis rather than the actual threat perception” after the information of the current AAP government.
This removal is a result of steps being taken by the government, instead of an evaluation of the actual consequential threat to the lives of these people, argued Madhu Dayal.
A query asked by the high court on why certainty cover was reversed, the Punjab government-speak it needed the security personnel for the performance of Bluestar’s anniversary on 6 June.
