There have been huge protests all over the country regarding the Agnipath scheme. Most People are not in favor of this scheme and want the present government to take back the scheme as they are not finding it beneficial for the youth. Bihar was the hotspot of the protest.Â
Violent protests have been carried out in various parts of Southern India. Huge agitations took place at Secunderabad railway station. Many trains have been set on fire. In Telangana, one protester lost his life while several others got injured after shots were fired at the mob in the secunderabad railway station.Â
All About Today’s meeting
The Prime Minister will meet the chief of three services- the army, navy and Airforce regarding the ongoing Agnipath scheme. The three servicemen will meet the Prime Minister separately with Navy Chief R Hari Kumar is all set to meet the Prime Minister very first.Â
The three defense services have already issued notifications regarding the recruitment of Agniveers. The Online registration of the applications will start next month. A thorough background check of the Agniveers will be done before engaging them in service. A total of 83 recruitment rallies will take place under this scheme during the months of August, September and October.Â
All About the Agnipath Scheme
Agnipath is a new scheme that was announced by the Central Government of India on 14th of June 2022. This scheme is for the recruitment of the soldiers below the rank of commissioned officers into the three services of the armed forces. The youth selected under this scheme will be known as Agniveers. Youth from the age of 18 to 23 years are eligible for applying for this scheme.Â
