Prime Minister Modi was addressing party workers and locals at a massive public meeting titled ‘Vijay Sankalp Sabha’ at Parade Grounds in Hyderabad on Sunday (July 3).
Prime Minister Narendra Modi demanded leaders at the party’s national executive meeting titled ‘Vijay Sankalp Sabha’ at Parade Grounds on Sunday, to reach out to “deprived and downtrodden sections” in communities other than Hindus, as the BJP looks to vote banks and regions where it has not been able to make any significant inroads or electoral gains.
“He said there are deprived and downtrodden sections in other communities also. We should not be limited to Hindus only, we should work for all these deprived communities,” a BJP leader said, referring to remarks from PM Modi in discussions at the meeting over the weekend.
Days after the BJP defeated the SP in two important UP constituencies where Muslim voters have a significant impact—Azamgarh and Rampur—Modi gave instructions to its leaders and related officials.
BJP had tried to attempt to reach out to the deprived communities in the past and the party has assessed that the community’s votes backed the BJP in the recent by-elections: a party leader cited Modi’s remarks.
Prime Minister Modi had made a similar appeal to the general secretaries of the party in 2021, urging them to maintain the Christian population on their side in Kerala, where the party had struggled to make major electoral progress.
The Prime Minister also ignited the party’s dream to rename Hyderabad as Bhagyanagar, as he referred to it as ‘Bhagyanagar’ in his address to party delegates on the final day of BJP’s national executive meeting on Sunday.
Prime Minister Modi will unveil the statue of Alluri Sitarama Raju on the 125th birth anniversary as part of Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav on Monday, 4 July, at Peda Amiram, near Bhimavaram. He will unveil the 30-feet long Alluri Sitaram Raju statue costing Rs 3 crore by the Kshatriya Seva Samiti at Municipal Park in ASR Nagar.
