Xiaomi India team restructured after tax evasion allegations on the company. The company had been under the Indian government’s eye for tax evasion and has added new team members. Alvin Tse is the head of India, and Anuj Sharma is Chief Marketing Officer (CMO). Both have been associated with Xiaomi for years and are now assigned new roles and responsibilities.Â
Manu Kumar Jain, former Manu Kumar Jain, former Vice President, and Managing Director for Xiaomi India worked with the company for seven years and is currently appointed as Global Vice President for Xiaomi. His position was vacant for a few months. During this course, the duties were managed by: Muralikrishnan B, Chief Operating Officer (COO), Raghu Reddy, Chief Business Officer, and Sameer Rao, Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Now, Mr.Tse will perform the roles.

Anuj Kumar, country director of POCO has rejoined Xiaomi India as Cheif Marketing Officer (CMO). He had performed his role as CMO between 2018-2020 and has rejoined. He will be performing strategizing roles for branding and marketing as well as helping to connect with consumers globally. POCO will soon announce its new director after Anuj Kumar.
The company has been accused of violating FEMA policy for trade and remitting money outside the country under the name of royalties. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) had passed seizure of assets worth ₹5,500 crores from the company. Former Managing Director, Mr. Jain was questioned for the same. The Karnataka High Court had issued an interim stay, a hearing for which will be passed on 8 June 2022. Many companies like; Oneplus, Huawei, and Oppo were questioned for tax evasion.
