Johnny Depp, 58, is an American actor and producer. He is a star in Hollywood and has done numerous hit films, including “The Pirates of the Caribbean” and many more. He was quite popular back in the ’90s because of his charm and dashing looks. He had been in many relationships but ended up marrying Lori Anne in 1983, but the relationship didn’t survive and they ended up getting divorced just a year or two. After Lori, he married Amber Heard, who is 23 years younger than him. Even that relationship didn’t last, and they also got divorced just after a few years.
Depp, 58, and Heard, 35, started dating in 2012. They both met each other in 2009 on the set of “The Rum Diary.” They both started dating when Depp announced that he was breaking up with his longtime partner, Paradis, with whom he has two children, Lily-Rose Depp and Jack Depp. In 2015, Depp and Heard got married in a private ceremony in LA.
Later that year, Amber filed a divorce from Johnny, accusing him of physical abuse. She also said that he was always on drugs and alcohol when he used to abuse her, even throwing his phone at him, which caused a bruise on her face. But according to Depp, Amber was the one who was abusing him and also falsely accusing him of things that he hadn’t done.
According to The People, in August 2016, the court declared a settlement of $7 million, and Amber received the amount and donated it to charity. The divorce was finalized by the court in 2017, but then suddenly, in 2018, Amber opened up to The Washington Post, saying that she was abused.
Then again, in 2019, Depp sued her for $50 million for defaming him in the Washington Post article. Depp has also claimed that she had affairs with Elon Musk and James Franco. In 2020, phone recordings were leaked where Amber admitted to hitting Depp. In the recording, she said, “I’m sorry that I didn’t hit you across the face with a proper slap, but I was hitting you. I was not punching you.
” Babe, you’re not punched”. Depp’s ex, Paradis, also commented that Johnny is not the kind of person Amber is accusing him of being and that he has never been violent with her in the many years of their relationship. Depp has accused Heard of physical abuse and extramarital affairs on numerous occasions, but she has always denied them.
Depp was also asked to resign from his upcoming film, Fantastic Beast 3, because of all these allegations against him. He also said that “I intend to prove that the allegations against me are false and my life, along with my career, will not be defined by this moment in time.
” Then again, in March 2021, he was denied permission to appeal against the high court ruling. During the application hearing, Depp’s lawyers provided proof against Amber that she had lied about donating the $7 million to the charity. Again, in 2021, Amber sued Depp for $100 million after her motion was denied to move the case to California.
After the case was closed for so many months, it has been resumed once again and this time Depp’s sister and his childhood friends are giving their statements about him. His sister described him as a gentle and loving brother and also said that when he got involved with Amber Heard, he became sadder. His fans were also there to support him through these hard times. The court has not come up with an answer yet, so the case will go on.
