At the top of the Kamakhya mandir, this Mela will be going to organised from24th June. A huge devastating flood that has originated in Assam during these four days of Ambubachi Mela.
This is one of the most religious Ambubachi Mela of the temple and also plays a significant part in-state tourism, the doors will remain shut for four days in collaboration with the belief of the fertility cult. There is a belief that goddess Kamakhya receives her menstruation cycle during this time. The temple will be open only after four days and as part of the rituals.
The chief minister of Assam Mr. Himanta Biswa Sarma wishes and prays to maa Kamakhya to bless everyone and give health to everyone, he wrote in Twitter. Very detail arrangements are made in order to make the event successful they are not allowed to bring personal vehicles or public transport according to deputy commissioner Pallav Gopal Jha.
The special needs will be fulfilled of the senior citizens, vehicles will be provided to them to reach the top of the hill.
The toilet facilities are also arranged for the devotees and also the camps are built in Pandu port also in Malegaon and old jail complex at fancy bazar and these three places are officially told by the officials.
The distribution of water and food also has arranged and will be given to their locations along the roads towards the temple, officials further added. Many of the Maharashtra MLAs are in this meal, one of them is Mr. Sarbananda Sonowal.
He also visited several affected places of Assam. He was the chief minister of Assam, from different parts of the country like from west Bengal, Orissa are joining this event and seeking blessings from maa kamakhya.
The event will start around 8:00 to 8:30 pm, the government has not set up any equipment to determine people having covid.
There is a long religious story that has associated with this mela the ancient Kam Rupa and Kamakhya they are mentioned in the religious text known as yogini tantra and Kalika Puran.
Many of the sadhus and yoginis will also be part of this mega event and will seek the blessings along with different devotees who will come to this event to witness this mela.
This mela always happens once a year and in huge population the people will come and witness it with their friends and families. Everyone can witness this mela from different parts of the world.
