Prime minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday raised the political temperament by lauding his voice for UCC while addressing the booth workers in Bhopal.
After removing article 370, Modi government is working on imposing UCC before the Loksabha elections while many opposition parties are opposing it.
Aam aadmi party taking a different stand from the opposition parties.
Where many opposition parties are opposing UCC, Aam admi party broke from the opposition ranks to extend ‘in principal’ support to the proposal.
Aam aadmi party cleared their stand by citing article 44 of the constitution.
AAP leader Sandeep Pathak stated that:
“AAP supports UCC in principle because even Article 44 (of the constitution) supports the idia of a UCC.
AAP leader qualified it’s support by Stressing the need for consultations and consensus.
Many opposition parties to oppose UCC.
Amid the UCC controversy many opposition parties are raising their voice loudly against it. The ex member of NDA shiromani akali dal rejects UCC by alleging that it would impact minorities and tribals. DMK, JDU and TMC is continuously attacking Prime minister Modi over UCC.
Although AIADMK withheld it’s response.
Law commission to make a draft of UCC.
Justice Ritu Raj awasthi the chairman of Law commission said 8.5 lac responses had been till now from the day when commision started public consultation campaign on June 14.
Many opposition leaders mocking Union government amid UCC row.
Congress functionary P Chidambaram said UCC could not be forced on people as it would “widen divisions”.
SAD spokesperson Daljit Singh Cheema said,”SAD believes that the country’s civil laws are influenced by faith, caste, customs and are different for different religions character that should be preserved for protecting the social fabric as well as the “Unity in diversity”.
