Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s rally is visiting the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir for the first time after discarding Article 370. Early Sunday morning, the villagers of Laliyana heard a blast, hours ahead of Modi’s visit.
According to an early inspection by the local police, the explosion had formed a small crater. The time of the explosion was probably after 4 in the morning. The likely cause of it may have been lightning or a meteorite.
The Samba district, where Modi’s rally will pass through, is almost 8 km away from the Laliyana villain. For now, referencing the locals, the police have eliminated the possibility of the explosion having a terror angle.
