Angelina Jolie has filed a countersuit against Brad Pitt in their ongoing legal battle over Château Miraval, a French winery purchased by the former couple over a decade ago. According to Variety, Jolie’s legal team has revealed new details about an alleged altercation between Pitt, Jolie, and their children on a plane in September 2016.
Brad Pitt attempted to get physical with one of their children after the child came to Angelina Jolie’s defence.
During the 2016 altercation, “Pitt choked one of the children and struck another in the face” and “grabbed Jolie by the head and shook her,” according to the countersuit. According to Jolie’s lawyer, the feud began when Pitt accused her of being “too obsequious” about their children. They began fighting in the plane’s bathroom. Pitt then repeatedly punched the plane’s ceiling, prompting Jolie to leave the bathroom. “
As previously reported in August, Angelina Jolie was the driving force behind an anonymous 2016 lawsuit in which the plaintiff claimed she was assaulted by her former husband Brad Pitt on a private plane. The actor told an FBI agent that Pitt physically and verbally assaulted her and their children, prompting the agent to meet with the assistant US attorney. The agent decided not to pursue criminal charges, prompting Jolie to file an anonymous Freedom of Information Act lawsuit against the FBI in order to obtain documents related to the federal investigation into Pitt.
PageSix reported in August that “Angelina and her team have been desperately searching for something,” adding, “This is all for show.” All of this information was available to her five and a half years ago. “This isn’t anything new.”
