The protection of Aparna Purohit came after noticing her cooperation with the investigation department and also appearing before the police as and when summoned. It has to be noted that she had challenged the order made by the Allahabad High Court regarding the denial of her anticipatory bail.
About the case:
It has to be noted that a case had been lodged against Aparna Purohit, over the web series, Tandav.
The relief came after a bench of justices Sanjiv Khanna and MM Sundresh, granted anticipatory bail to Aparna Purohit, after noting that she has been cooperating with the officials, in the investigation regarding the case.
The verdict
The verdict said, “in view of the statement made, we confirm the interim order and direct that in the event of the appellant Aparna Purohit being arrested, she shall be released on bail by the arresting officer/trial court on terms and conditions to be fixed by the trial court”.
Mukul Rohatgi and Sidharth Luthra, the senior advocates in the case, appearing for the petitioner, had stated in the court that Aparna Purohit is cooperating with the officials and proceedings related to the investigation of the case.
