In Nashik, actor Nitesh Pandey, best known for his part in Om Shanti Om, reportedly passed away on Wednesday at the age of 51 after having a heart attack.
An industry in mourning for Pandey’s loss
Nitesh Pandey, a well-known television actor best known for playing Dheeraj in the hit Star Plus series Anupamaa, has died at the age of 51. In the Maharashtrian town of Igatpuri, he had a cardiac arrest. He was travelling for work when he died, according to producer JD Majethia, with whom Nitesh worked closely. He claimed that Pandey had a heart attack and died around two in the morning.
Pandey’s coworkers were horrified by his passing, and several offered condolences. Amit Behl, an actor and CINTAA member, claimed that they learned about Nitesh’s passing early on Wednesday. He referred to it as a terrible loss and prayed for the family in mourning.
In shock, Deven Bhojani tweeted that his colleague had passed away from a heart attack. He continued by saying that it is a terrible day since it started off with two extremely tragic news items: the passing of Vaibhavi Upadhyay and Nitesh Pandey, two very talented people. Similarly, filmmaker Hansal Mehta tweeted that three young actors had died in the previous three to four days. Aditya Singh Rajput, Vaibhavi Upadhyay, and Nitesh Pandey were mentioned along with the hashtags for the actors in his statement, saying it was an unkind moment and he offered his prayers with their bereaved families.
The actor Rajeshwri Sachdev tweeted about Pandey leaving the world too soon and expressed his sorrow over his passing. He was accompanied by German actress Suzanne Bernert, who expressed her sympathies on his behalf. Bernert portrays Sonia Gandhi in the film The Accidental Prime Minister.
Police investigation underway
The police are looking into the death of Pandey, who was discovered dead at his hotel. As of right now, heart attack is the official cause of death. The postmortem report is being awaited by a police team stationed at the hotel. The hotel workers and those close to him are also being questioned.
Arpita Pandey, the actor’s sister, is reportedly in shock, according to the actor’s brother-in-law. He informed us that the father of Nitesh Pandey had departed for Igatpuri to retrieve his mortal remains and would be back by the afternoon. He added that the incident had left the family completely numb and that he had been unable to speak to Arpita.
Pandey’s legacy
Pandey was nurtured in Almora, Uttrakhand, where he was born. His first encounter with Arpita Pandey was on the television programme Justajoo, and they later got married. The couple got married in 2003. Additionally, he was formerly married to the actress Ashwini Kalsekar.
Nitesh Pandey spent approximately 25 years working in the entertainment sector, primarily in the fields of theatre, film, and television. He began his theatrical career in the early 1990s and afterwards appeared in a number of television programmes. In programmes like Tejas, Manzilein Apani Apani, Saaya, Astitva Ek Prem Kahani, Justajoo, and Durgesh Nandini, he made an appearance. He has a production company as well. His most well-known films still include Khosla Ka Ghosla, Om Shanti Om, and Badhaai Do. His final TV appearances were in Anupamaa and Pyar Ka Dard Hai Meetha Meetha Pyara Pyara.
