Anurag Kashyap, along with Sunny Leone and Rahul Bhat, attended the highly anticipated premiere of their film Kennedy at the Cannes Film Festival.
The movie Kennedy, starring Sunny Leone and Rahul Bhat, was finally exhibited at the ongoing Cannes Film Festival.
At the Cannes Film Festival 2024, Kennedy was featured during a midnight showing, and the crew was applauded by the audience. Along with Sunny Leone and Rahul Bhat, the filmmaker walked the red carpet for the premiere of the movie.
Kennedy’s cast on the red carpet
At the Cannes Film Festival, Sunny Leone strolled the red carpet to see Kennedy. The actress uploaded photos of herself alongside Anurag Kashyap and Rahul Bhat on the Palais des Festivals’ renowned front steps, saying it was the finest moment of her career. She continued by expressing her gratitude to Kashyap and Bhat for performing a wonderful performance beside her.
Sunny, dressed in a blush pink gown from the racks of the couture house Naja Saade, stole the show at the occasion. The outfit features a provocative thigh-high slit, a floor-sweeping hem length, cut-outs on the shoulder and waist, a double-strap with a dazzling brooch adornment, a one-shoulder design, a double-strap, and a cape-like attachment flowing like a train on the back.
The actress had a charming appearance, but she had a mishap when the wind blew her gown. Sunny’s dress became a little messy to handle as they paused to pose for the cameras due to strong gusts of wind. By attempting to position it correctly on the red carpet, Anurag tried to assist her.
A regular at Cannes, Anurag Kashyap was dressed in a black bandhgala suit. The premiere of the movie was also attended by his friend and longtime partner Vikramaditya Motwane, co-producer Kabir Ahuja, and seasoned director Sudhir Mishra.
About Kennedy
Kennedy, directed by Anurag Kashyap, has Sunny Leone, Abhilash Thapliyal, and Rahul Bhatt in the key parts. A long-thought-dead insomniac former police officer who is still working for the corrupt system and seeking forgiveness is the focus of the movie. Only two films from India were chosen as official festival selections this year, and one of them was “Kennedy.”
The actress talked about her experience auditioning for Kennedy and landing the role before her big red carpet debut. Ten people were seated there when she conducted the audition, she mentioned. After stating that she was a good fit for the part, the director turned to face the other actors and sought their opinions. This was a true test, she added.
Sunny also revealed that she had snuck up on the director last night and learned that they had already made up their minds about her and were probably not confident she would show up for the audition. The actress went on to say that many times, when actors reach such heights in their careers, they try to circumvent the process of auditioning entirely.
Kennedy’s Screening
The actress also shared a photo with the film’s director, Anurag Kashyap, on Tuesday, noting that the seats for her big Cannes premiere of the year, Kennedy, sold out in a matter of minutes. She expressed her pride in that fact in the caption.
Producer Ranjan Singh posted a glimpse of the Kennedy screening on his Instagram feed. Ranjan released a photo of Anurag, Rahul Bhat, producer Kabir Ahuja, and director Vikramaditya Motwane prior to the screening. They are prepared for Kennedy’s Cannes premiere, he wrote in the post’s description, adding that it was a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
The premiere of Kennedy at the prestigious film festival, which also featured the world premieres of many other major films, including The Idol starring The Weeknd, Killers of the Flower Moon starring Leonardo DiCaprio, and Jeanne du Barry starring Johnny Depp, has delighted Indian moviegoers thanks to Anurag Kashyap.
