A Man of Wisdom: A. P. J. Abdul Kalam
Mr. Kalam, A person whom everyone looks up to, whether a child or grown old, changed the future of India by his presence. Not only were they great Aerospace scientists, but they also served the country by becoming the 11th president of India from 2002-to 2007.
Mr. APJ Abdul Kalam was born on 15 October 1931 in a Tamil Muslim family and was raised in Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu. His full name was Avul Pakir Abdul kalam’s. As the youngest among the family of 4 brothers and one sister.
Even though the Ancestors of Mr. Kalam’s family were wealthy, they lost all their fortune by the 1920s, which brought poverty to them, and Mr. Kalam was also born around that time.
Like the bright sun, they are in the school; they were described as hardworking students who had a strong desire to learn. Later in days, Mr. Kalam moved to Madras to pursue his degree in Physics and aerospace engineering from Madras Institute of Technology.
After graduation, he works four years as a scientist and science administrator at the Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO). He started his dream by designing a small hovercraft but remained unconvinced by his choice of a job at DRDO.
By 1969, he was transferred to the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO). They were the project director of India’s first Satellite Launch Vehicle (SLV-III), which was a great success and deployed in orbit without any trouble.
They started working independently on an expandable rocket project supported by govt in 1969 and were ordered to include more engineers. Mr. Kalam had seen many successes and failures in his life, but they always had learned from those.
Mr. Kalam was intimately involved in India’s civilian space program and military missile development efforts. He is known as Missile Man of India because he developed ballistic missiles and launch vehicle technology.
Mr. Kalam was elected as 11th President of India, formally known as “People’s President,” with the ruling Bhartiya Janata Party and the Indian National Congress; he moved to Rashtrapati Bhavan. During his term as president, he was well known and liked by the citizens of India.
He declined the contest of the 2012 presidential poll. And said so: Many citizens have also expressed the same wish. This being their wish, I respect it. It reflects their love and affection for me and the people’s aspirations. I am overwhelmed by this support. I want to thank them for those who trust me.
Mr. Kalam died on 27 July 2015 at 83 in Shillong, Meghalaya, India. Due to an apparent cardiac arrest. National level person attended the funeral ceremony held in his hometown of Rameswaram, where he was buried with full state honors.
He always said to youth to think differently and explore more paths, courage to make the impossible possible, and succeed. He always said that youth are most creative confident and can also achieve success.
The struggle or passion of his work it’s an important message or moral that if you have a dream so complete with your confidence level and positivity. And most important is self-trust self-confident. So, the youth can change India if the youth can work with self-confidence.
