Through the new reports, we came to know about Apple’s upcoming AR/VR (augmented and virtual reality) headset. Other than this, the report also details the features of Apple’s headset that make it different from Meta’s just-announced Quest Pro, which is more likely to be the biggest competitor to Apple’s device. Here are the pictures of the Meta’s Quest Pro and Apple’s VR Headset –

According to the articles, the headset will look like a pair of ski goggles. It will be made up of “mesh fabrics, aluminum, and glass”, it will be thinner, and weigh less than the Quest Pro(Meta’s headsets). Quest Pro weighs 722 grams.

This headset will scan a user’s irises(the colored tissue at the front of the eye that contains the pupil in the center) so that they can be recognized and log into their accounts, instantly after they put on the headset. The headset can be passed from one person to another, as it will work for multiple users.
The headset will also offer some special features for users who wear glasses. They’ll be able to “Magnetically clip-on prescription lenses inside the headset.” WAIT! WAIT! WAIT!. It is also reported that the headset will have 13 cameras(in total). It will also scan the wearer’s legs, so the positions of said legs can be accurately portrayed by a VIRTUAL AVATAR.
In addition to this, the iris-scanning technology will also be used for authentic payments. Meta’s headset won’t feature iris scanning. It will be the headset’s equivalent of Face ID or Touch ID, and the biometric authentication methods previously seen in the iPhone, iPad, and Mac.

Meta’s recently announced Quest Pro headset has four or more cameras, but it lacks leg cameras. It’s common in 3D telepresence apps to see floating torsos and faces with no legs, but it seems Apple might be looking to get away from the standard.
Meta has been in the VR Business for seven years, and Apple has the strongest background in AR, just because of the sensors and developer support system on its iPhones and iPads.
Apple’s headset will be released in 2024 at a higher price, whereas Meta’s Quest Pro has been revealed on October 11 and it’ll be available in stores for $1499.99. So, it is clear that Apple’s headset will cost more than $1499.99.
