The son of renowned cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, Arjun Tendulkar, is set to depart from the Mumbai domestic team. He can be a part of Goa for the 2022–2024 session. The emerging Mumbai star will quit his home team, SRT Sports Management said on Thursday.
Arjun has already requested a NOC from the Mumbai Cricket Association and claims a PTI report. He will be allowed to play this season for a different state association once his application gets approved.
“Getting maximum game time on the ground is important for Arjun at this juncture of his career.” We believe that the shift will improve the probability of Arjun featuring in more competitive matches. “He is embarking on a new phase of his cricketing career,” SRT Sports Management said in a statement.Â
He played in two games for Mumbai against Haryana and Puducherry in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy competition for sessions 2020–21.
The left-handed pacer was additionally a part of the Mumbai Indians IPL team but was not included in playing eleven. Tendulkar participated in two “tests” for the India U-19 team against Sri Lanka three summers before.
The Disappointment
Tendulkar’s biggest disappointment this season has been his exclusion from the Mumbai team. He did not get a chance to demonstrate his talent. People that have followed his development believe that the child has the proper mentality and work ethic, but he desires regular playing time to prove his abilities.Â
He last participated in an extremely limited number of T20 matches in England with the Mumbai Indians’ development team. Dewald Brevis, Ramandeep Singh, Anmolpreet Singh, and Kumar Kartikeya were all members of the team that competed in T20 matches against club groups.
A senior member of the Goa Cricket Association (GCA) also acknowledged Tendulkar Junior.
GCA President Suraj Lotlikar also informed PTI that they have been looking for a left-handed bowler for adding multi-skilled players to the middle order. They invited Arjun Tendulkar to join Goa for the same reason. He further said that the player will be playing in pre-season trial matches(white ball). The selectors will then be taking a final call based on his performance.
