General Manoj Pande, the Army Chief, commenced a visit to the forward regions along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir for inspection purposes.
During his visit, he engaged in discussions with field commanders and troops, evaluating the existing security situation.
The focus of the discussions revolved around countering infiltration attempts from Pakistan and reinforcing the Anti-Infiltration Grid to prevent militants from infiltrating Indian territory.
The Army commander was joined by Lt Gen Upendra Dwivedi, head of Northern Command while touring forward locations.
Army Chief Gen Pande, along with Lt Gen Upendra Dwivedi and Lt Gen Rajiv Ghai, GOC of the Srinagar-based 15 Corps, also met with Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha.
The meeting primarily focused on assessing the security situation in the Valley and ensuring the necessary arrangements for the ongoing annual pilgrimage of Shri Amarnath Ji in the South Kashmir Himalayas.
According to officials, Gen. Manoj Pande reviewed the troops’ operational readiness while in advanced regions along the LoC.
The commanders on the ground gave him a briefing on the Anti-Infiltration Grid and a strong stance to uphold the LoC’s integrity.
During his visit to the forward areas, the Chief of Army Staff, Gen Manoj Pande, personally interacted with the deployed troops.
He commended them for their unwavering vigilance and high morale in safeguarding the nation’s borders.
Gen. Pande urged the soldiers to continue working with the same fervour and passion.
Anti-Infiltration Grid Strengthened in Jammu and Kashmir
During his assessment of the prevailing situation on the Line of Control (LoC), Army Chief Gen Manoj Pande focused on the ongoing infiltration attempts by militants from Pakistan.
The troops stationed along the LoC have effectively foiled the majority of these infiltration attempts, showcasing their dedication and skill.
However, the possibility of a few successful intrusions cannot be completely ruled out. The Army chief acknowledged the troops’ relentless efforts in maintaining high vigilance and praised their determination and morale.
Baramulla, Kupwara, Rajouri, and Poonch, which share the Line of Control with Pakistan, have all received full reinforcement of the Anti-Infiltration Grid.
Since quite some time ago, the Pakistani army has not really violated the cease-fire along the Line of Control.
To keep the situation in Jammu and Kashmir heated up, the Pakistani army continues to support terrorist infiltration efforts on the LoC, but all of their wicked plans have been thwarted.
For the current Shri Amarnath Ji yearly pilgrimage in the South Kashmir Himalayas, many soldiers have been deployed.
Despite the current Shri Amarnath Ji pilgrimage, anti-militancy activities continue throughout the Kashmir valley.
In addition to apprehending several others this year, the Army, JKP, and CRPF have killed a significant number of terrorists, including top commanders of various organisations.
Lt Gen Rashim Bali, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 14 Corps, popularly known as the Fire and Fury Corps, which is located in Leh, visited frontline soldiers stationed at the Siachen Glacier’s icy borders today.
He praised the Army commanders and troops for upholding the highest levels of operational and combat readiness.
Army’s ‘Vijay Diwas’ Exhibition
A ‘Vijay Diwas Shastra Pradarshan’ was held at Kargil on July 15 and 16 in preparation for the 24th anniversary of the Kargil Vijay Diwas, according to a statement from the Indian army.
To honour India’s triumph over Pakistan, Kargil Vijay Diwas is observed every year on July 26.
The ‘Vijay Diwas Shastra Pradarshan’ event included a wide variety of weaponry and equipment that the Indian Army regularly employs.
With a particular focus on ‘Made in India’ (indigenous) weaponry and equipment, the display showcased the country’s efforts towards self-reliance under the ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ initiative.
The event aimed to demonstrate the technological advancements and capabilities achieved by India’s defense industry, fostering a sense of pride and confidence among the armed forces and the public.
The showcasing of indigenous weaponry during this event further reaffirmed the nation’s commitment to bolstering its defense capabilities and reducing dependency on foreign imports.
Major General Sacin Malik, the General Officer Commanding the Forever in Operations Division and recipient of the Yudh Seva Medal, officially opened the ceremony.
At the celebration were schoolchildren, city dwellers, and representatives of the government.
As per the official statement, Colonel Balwan Singh recounted the heroic Indian forces’ exploits during the 1999 Kargil War when they captured Tiger Hill (located in the Drass-Kargil region of Ladakh).
The solemn observance of Kargil Vijay Diwas serves as an important emotional reminder of the tremendous sacrifices made by our troops to preserve the integrity of the territory of our homeland.
A notable example is the Kargil War, which Pakistan and India fought in 1999 to drive Pakistani forces off the Line of Control. “Operation Vijay” is widely recognized as the common name for it.
