Ashvwni Vaishnav, rail minister of India, returned to Delhi from Odhissa after checking the restoration and rescue for the train accident. Few days ago, India witnessed one of the most dangerous train accidents of its history, when three trains collided with each other on a track. The accident was so bad that it led to severe injuries and many people lost their lives. The minister is now holding a series of meetings with concerned officers. He has a meeting schedule, where he will speak to the railway officials of different zones and different department. The meeting will focus primarily on safety measures, signaling of telecom across the lines and what are the further safety measures which can be taken for improovement.
The train accident occured in Balasore district of Odisha,where three trains, namely Shalimar – Chennai central coromandel express, Bangalore howrah superfast express, which were carrying around 25000 passengers collapsed with a goods train, which carried iron. The accident occurred at 7 pm on Friday near Bhanga bazar station in mysore, about 250 km south to Kolkata and north to Bhuveneshvar.Its estimated that more than 280 are killed and more than 10000 are injured.
The reason for the collision of three trains remains unclear. It was reported that 17-18 coaches of these two trains were derailed and brutally broken or damaged during the accident which took place on Friday. According to recent reports more than 1175 have been admitted to the hospitals out of which more than 790 are discharged and remaining are still in the hospital undergoing treatment.
Prime Minister Nrendra Modi, requested te officers and members of NDRF,railways, ODRAF and local governing and concerned authorities to come forward and help the victims of the accident.I Request everyone from police to fire service to local civilians to everyone in their healthy body to come in front and help the victims and the government. It’s time to be united.
Andhra Pradesh in its bit for help has dispatched 21 funeral vehicles and 20 ambulances to the accident site at Odisha,reported Health Minister Vidadala.For coordinating the dispatched vehicles on the concerned site, an organization of officers from transport, police and health departments have been appointed.The govt is taking all the measures to help.
A recent report states that maximum passengers who were hit by the accident have reached their home safely after taking the compensation amount.. The objective of the government is that trains start operating normally by Wednesday morning, said Ashvani Vaisnav, rail minister of India.
It’s been reported that the rescue operation will be successfully completed within a few hours.
The Indian Navy has dispatched a team of well qualified medical officials with adequate support. The team comprises 43 personnel including medical assistance, surgeon, doctors, who are specialists of their respective field. The support has been provided from INS Chika. The medical doctors are presently attending to patients at the District headquarter hospital at Balasore. The team is in coordination with state officers and giving their 100 percent.
According to the sources, round about 90 trains are canceled for eastern and southern railways, 46 of the trains are diverted with 11 trains temporarily terminated, followin te train accident on Friday evening.In times like these India stands strong and solid with all the humanity and belief.
