The plot thickens when a band of commoners, plan to loot 800 crores from him just to give him ‘emotional pain’. It would be interesting to watch how the series subverts the motif of corruption. Ashim Gulati, Namit Das, Atul Srivastava, Gyanendra Tripathi, Niharika Lyra Dutt, Monika Panwar, and Chandan Roy will also be seen on the show.
The Hunt for Veerappan

The upcoming docuseries showcases the rise and fall of the most notorious bandit-turned-terrorist figure Southern India has ever seen. Veerappan was the subject of a 20-year-long manhunt in the forests of Southern India. The series focuses on the first-hand experiences of the people who either knew Veerappan personally or spent their entire lives trying to capture him. Directed by Selvamani Selvaraj and produced by Apurva Bakshi the series was shot in Tamil and English. But it will be available in Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam, as well. The OTT platforms are creating a healthy ecosystem for content of all kinds.
The Jengburu Curse

The Jengaburu Curse deals with the reverberation of the unjust use of nature by human beings. The series is set in a small town in Odisha. The plot follows a financial analyst named Priya Das who flies in from London after learning that her father has gone missing. While searching for her father, she comes across the unlikely connection between her father, the Bondia tribe, and the mines in the state. Being a true-blue exploration of the age of the Anthropocene, this series has the potential of sparking debates about the preservation of the environment.

The wedding planners are back in business! Only this time the show has a bigger cast, better locations, a grander budget, and superior social messages to be delivered. India’s sweetheart, Alia Bhatt, will be seen making her Hollywood debut with this film. She will be playing the role of a villain.
Taali

Taali is a biopic of transgender Shreegauri Sawant. Sawant is a transgender activist from Mumbai. Her name is synonymous with that of an LGBTQ+ icon in India. She was one of the petitioners who files the NALSA case in 2013. Her struggles and activism led to the recognition of transgenders as the third gender in India, by the Supreme Court.
Former Miss Universe and actor Sushmita Sen will be playing the role of Sawant in this upcoming series. Helmed by Ravi Jadhav the series promises to give an insight into Sawant’s life.
Guns & Gulaabs
Releases August 18, on Netflix.
With a title borrowed from the ‘80s rock band Guns ’N Roses, director duo, Raj and DK are going to present a crime drama with a flare of romance, quirk, passion, innocence, and comedy. The much-awaited show stars Rajkumar Rao, Dulquer Salman, BAFTA-nominated Adarsh Gaurav, and Gulshan Devaiah. Based in the town of Gulaabganj, the story will follow a cartel heir, a mechanic, and an officer as they traverse through their shares of conflicts. Guns & Gulaab is one of the most highly anticipated OTT releases of this year.

Created by Jon Faverau and Dave Filoni Ashoka is a part of the Star Wars franchise and a spin of The Mandalorian.
