On Tuesday, the Karnataka high court in Bengaluru dismissed petitions filed by a section of Muslim students from the Government Pre-University Girls College in Udupi, seeking permission to wear hijab in class. On Friday night, 7 people died in a major fire break out at shanties of Delhi’s Gokul puri. According to the reports, at around 1 am last night the fire department received a call. The fire destroyed 60 huts, and 7 bodies were retrieved from the site by the fire tenders. The fire broke out near pillar number 12 at Gokul Puri. The Election Commission said on Thursday morning that it has decided to withdraw the ban imposed on January 8, 2022 on victory processions during the counting of votes and declaration of result in the five states where elections were held recently.
