Burberry Gets a New Creative Director Starting October 3

In yet another news of management change, Burberry’s chief creative officer since  2018 is set to be replaced by Daniel Lee. The shocking news however failed to shock anyone as rumours of the news were flying around ever since Jonathan Akeroyd was appointed the new CEO only 6 months ago. Retailers to fast-track reintroduction of  VAT-free scheme to 2024

Only days after Kwasi Kwarteng, finance minister of the UK announced the reintroduction of VAT-free shopping for overseas visitors; retailers have expressed their displeasure with the time it will take for the scheme to be implemented. Burberry CFO and COO to step down after 6 years with the brand

Julia Brown, Burberry’s chief financial and chief operating officer, will be stepping down from her posts on 1 April 2024, the end of the financial year.  Brown’s departure from the brand is a result of her desire to pursue opportunities “outside of the luxury industry.”  Burberry has already started looking for someone to take her place.  Not the Best Move for Burberry? VAT Free Shopping for Tourists in Britain Again

Kwasi Kwarteng, finance minister of the UK presented the mini-budget on Friday and also announced the reintroduction of VAT-free shopping for overseas visitors.  The sales tax-free shopping has been brought back after being terminated in 2020 to encourage growth in the retail sector and help tolerate the rising inflation on the high street. “Britain welcomes millions of tourists every year, and I want our high streets and airports, our ports and our shopping centres, to feel the economic benefit. Coty to Double its Sales in Skin Care Sector by 2025

Reliance Retail to Compete with Zara and H&M

Mukesh Ambani’s conglomerate  Reliance Retail is reportedly planning to launch a fast fashion store chain to compete directly with global fast fashion giants Zara and H&M in India.
