NATO on Friday rejected Ukraine’s appeal for a no-fly zone promoting that it could escalate to a full-fledged war involving more countries. The decision was followed after an urgent meeting of the 30-member alliance held in Brussels. The secretary-general of NATO, Jens Stoltenberg announced the decision. He said, “We are not part of this conflict,” helping Ukraine protect its skies from Russian missiles and warplanes would require NATO forces to shoot down Russian aircraft, a move that could result in a “full-fledged war in Europe involving many more countries”. Communications watchdog of Russia has constricted access to BBC Russian language service as well as the Meduza media outlet and Radio Liberty on Friday. On Thursday, the foreign ministry of Russia said that the BBC was being used to undermine the internal political situation and security in Russia. The ministry also claimed BBC cast false information about the ongoing conflict of Russia with Ukraine. The re-shuffle of certain BJP candidates might give the party challenges to retain power in the Ballia district of Uttar Pradesh.  Before the election, the Bhartiya Janta party shifted Anand Swaroop Shukla, the sitting MLA from Ballia Sardar, to the Bairia assembly seat. The fifth phase of the UP assembly election concluded on Sunday. Polls were conducted in 12 districts with 692 candidates for 61 assembly seats in the fray.  Approximately 54% voter turnout was recorded until 5 p.m., with 2.24 crore people casting their vote in the fifth phase of the UP election.  The highest was recorded in the Chitrakoot district with 59.64 percent and the lowest at 50.25 percent in the Pratapgarh district.
