Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde expanded his two-minister cabinet by inducting 18 ministers. Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde expanded his cabinet six weeks after he was sworn in replacing Uddhav Thackeray. Shinde inducted 18 ministers, allocating home and finance to his deputy Devendra Fadnavis while keeping Urban Affairs to himself.  Allocating big ministries like Home, Revenue and Planning to BJP, it has been seen as a payback from Shinde. Sri Lankan govt allowed the Chinese ship to dock at its Hambantota port despite the concerns of India The Sri Lankan government has allowed the Chinese vessel Yuan Wang 5 to dock at its Hambantota port. Himachal Pradesh assembly passes the Freedom of Religion (Amendment) Bill, 2022, banning mass conversions. The Himachal Pradesh assembly on Saturday passed the Himachal Pradesh Freedom of Religion (Amendment) Bill, 2022, banning mass conversions and increased the maximum punishment to up to 10 years. The Himachal Pradesh Freedom of Religion Act 2019 was brought in to ban conversions by force, undue influence, coercion, inducement or any other fraudulent means or by marriage or other similar matters.
