Kathmandu dropped several BRI projects which would be completed under China’s dream project Belt and Road Initiative. Nepal signed 35 different projects under BRI during former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli Chinese visit in 2017. Chinese foreign minister, Wang Yi suggested the expansion of BRICS in the 14th BRICS foreign ministers meet held on 19 May 2022. China is the current chair of the grouping. In the last 24 hours, many Ukrainian soldiers surrendered to Russia forces who were continuing their resistance from Mariupol at Azavstol Steel plant. After this surrender Kremlin is planning to take full control of the city. India has banned the export of wheat amid rising food prices and inflation. The Myanmar military and its proxy have intensified the preparation for the planned election. The former Chief Secretary and Security Secretary, John Lee Ka-Chiu was elected as Hongkong’s Chief Executive in fresh elections on Sunday. He secured 1,416 secret ballot votes of 1,466 members Election Committee.
