Austrian tennis player and former Grand Slam champion Dominic Thiem defeated Laslo Djere 5-7, 7-6(3), 6-4 in the round of 32 at the Tel Aviv Watergen Open. Thiem overcame Djere in a long 2-hour 40-minute battle to set up a meeting with 2nd seed Marin Cilic in the round of 16.

England Football Team concluded their disappointing Nations League campaign with a 3-3 draw against Germany at the Wembley Stadium. After conceding early in the 2nd half, England rallied from 2 goals down to slot 3 goals in a space of 12 minutes just to concede in the dying minutes allowing Germany to halt an epic comeback.

Manchester City striker Erling Haaland continued his goal-scoring form in the Nations League but it was in vain as Slovenia defeated Norway 2-1 at home. Haaland scored his 6th goal in the League at the start of the second half but Sporar and Benjamin Sesko’s late strike secured Slovenia a much-needed victory. Manchester United right-back Diogo Dalot scored twice in Portugal’s 4-0 victory against the Czech Republic in the Nations League. Bruno Fernandes scored and assisted one each and Cristiano Ronaldo set up Diogo Jota in the end, sending Portugal to the top of Group B with 10 points in 5 matches. The Czech Republic on the other hand went to the bottom of the table and now must defeat Switzerland to avoid relegation to League B.

British tennis player Emma Raducanu’s struggle with injuries continued at the Korea Open as she was forced to retire in the 3rd set in the semifinal against Jelena Ostapenko at 4-6, 6-3, 3-0. 19-year-old Raducanu won the first set but her injuries surfaced in the second set. Serie A club Inter Milan is seemingly interested to take midfielder Donny van de Beek from Manchester United. And the interest is coming from none other than Inter’s manager himself, Simone Inzaghi. According to media reports, Simone wants van de Beek as a reasonable alternative to his more preferred option, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic. Neesham posted on his Instagram about the news saying that he has committed himself to other leagues around the world and has decided to honor those commitments rather than signing the contract. James Neesham was offered the Central Contract after 2 places were vacant following the retirement of Colin de Grandhomme and Trent Boult opting out last month.
