With the recent win in the W60 ITF event in Saguenay, Canada on Sunday, Karman Kaur Thandi has now become India’s new number 1 women’s singles tennis player. She has replaced the long-time Indian number 1 Ankita Raina, who is ranked 297 currently. With the greatest achievement of her tennis career, Thandi has reached the WTA rankings of 217. Army Helicopter crashes in Arunachal Pradesh (ANI)

In tragic news, five people were killed in a helicopter crash in Upper Siang district, Arunachal Pradesh. It was an army helicopter. Five people included two pilots who were in HAL Rudra which is an Advanced Light Helicopter The crash location was such that there was no connecting road there. However, a rescue team was sent there after the crash. The team recovered all five bodies later on Friday evening. In a tragic incident, a helicopter with a pilot and six other pilgrims crashed on its way back from Kedarnath, Uttarakhand after colliding with a hill due to low visibility.
