G Kishan Reddy on Wednesday announced that from 5-Aug to 15-Aug, entry to all the archaeological sites would be free under Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav.Â
On the occasion of the upcoming 75th Independence day of India, the Indian Government has arranged a free entrance to monuments. On Wednesday, the Union Minister for Culture and Tourism, G Kishan Reddy, announced that between August 5 and August 15, all monuments protected by the Archeological Survey of India (ASI) would offer free admission as part of the campaign “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav”.
Reddy tweeted a statement from the ASI on social media, stating that as part of ‘Azadi ka #AmritMahotsav and 75th Independence Day celebrations, @ASIGoI has made entry Free for the visitors/tourists to all its protected monuments/sites across the country, from 5th -15th August 2022.
It can be a good opportunity for the citizens of India and as well as foreigners as the Government has allowed a free visit. People have the chance to explore Indian culture through this scheme.Â
Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav is a series of events organised by the Government of India to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of India’s Independence. Besides providing free entry to protected monuments and celebrating India’s 75th anniversary of independence, the Union Ministry of Culture is doing several projects as part of the Mahotsav campaign.
PM Modi stated that the launch of the Mahotsav campaign 75 weeks before August 15 2022, will continue till August 15 2024.
