The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has constituted a three-member panel to investigate the issue of wicketkeeper-batsman Wriddhiman Saha getting dangerous threads from a journalist.
In the wake of being dropped from the Indian Test team for the Sri Lanka series, the 37-year-old took to Twitter to share a screen capture of a message got from a writer. The statement shows the recorder threatening the cricketer not to oblige a meeting demand.
On February 19, Saha shared a screen capture of his chat with an unknown journalist, where the media person requested an exclusive meeting from the player. Saha’s disclosure was made the same day the Test squad criticized him for India’s forthcoming home bilateral series against Sri Lanka.
“After all of my commitments to Indian cricket..this is what I face from a so-called “Respected” journalist! This is where the reporting has gone,” Saha referenced in his tweet with a screen capture connected to it.
Sharing a report on the discussion, the BCCI discharge uncovered an advisory group to test the matter. The delivery expressed:
“The three-member board involves BCCI Vice-President Mr. Rajiv Shukla, BCCI Treasurer Mr. Arun Singh Dhumal, and BCCI Apex Council Member Mr. Prabhtej Singh Bhatia. The board will begin the procedures as soon as the next week.”
The cricket board expressed that, taking the perception of the matter, they reached out to Saha and chose to establish a three-member council to look into the matter.
Prior, the cricketer, through a progression of tweets, affirmed that he wouldn’t uncover the journalist’s name who threatened him on the grounds of humanity.

In a meeting with Zee News, he said:
“I’m hurt with the message of the journalist. Neither have I at any point acted severely with any journalist, nor have they misbehaved with me. Yet, this was inappropriate. I needed to uncover him to realize that the universe of news-casting has such individuals. The said journalist has neither reached out nor apologized.”
On his interaction with BCCI over the matter, the keeper-batsman added: “After my tweet, BCCI has contacted me through email and the telephone. They are investigating the matter. I will cooperate with them.”
Saha hit the headlines after giving a spate of interviews following his cutting out from the Test squad for the two-match series against Sri Lanka. Saha found support from many former Indian players like Virender Sehwag, Ravi Shastri, Harbhajan Singh, RP Singh, and Pragyan Ojha for being mistreated by the mysterious journalist.
