The Board of Control For Cricket In India (BCCI) unveiled Team India’s new Jersey here on Sunday. Team India will don the New Jersey in the home T20I series against Australia and South Africa and also for the T20I World Cup which is scheduled in October.
MPL (mobile Premier League) continue as an official kit partner and organised an event for the jersey launch titled ‘Har Fan ki Jersey’ which means ‘Every Fan’s Jersey.
BCCI Evaluate the India Team Jersey
Indian jersey colour switched to a lighter version of blue, which looks analogous to that of a decade ago jersey. Team India jersey was designed with two shades of blue on the shoulder part Dark blue and the remaining part sky blue. Indian cricket team jersey has evolved into different themes of blue over the years. Every World Cup jersey is special to cricket fans right from the 1985 Benson and Hedges World Championship of cricket to till date.
From 1985 onwards, the Indian Jersey had blue and yellow tones to it and from the 1998 Coca-cola Cup and 1999 ODI World Cup, the blue colour has the lion’s share in Team India jersey.
Back to Sky Blue Shade
The lighter interpretation of the sky blue shade is back for the Team India Jersey. The present sky blue colour theme was similar to that of the ODI World Cup 2007 and the inaugural T20 World Cup 2007 Jersey, where India lifted the trophy.
Since the last T20I World Cup in UAE, the Team India Jersey kit has changed for the second time. In the previous edition, BCCI introduced the ‘Billion Cheers Jersey’ with darker blue and light resemblant stripes across the jersey.
The current Team India jersey is a tribute to Oxford Blue 1992 jersey and has undergone minor changes here and there, till the recent Asia cup.
BCCI through his Twitter handle shared the Team India jersey with fans.
Similarly, MPL Sports an official kit partner for The Board of Control For Cricket In India also shared the jersey on Twitter with the tag #HarFanKiJersey. You can also see How BCCI is destroying Indian cricket?
