Talking about the rest of the 90% population, it is worth pondering, how to equip them with the requisite skills according to their ability so that companies hire them. The creation of jobs is not at par with the GDP growth rate of 6-8%.
Our nation is a relatively young one, as compared to its neighbouring countries. Around 28 million youngsters are inducted each year into the Indian workforce.
In the recent past, around the year 2018, the rate of unemployment reached 6.1% which was the highest in the last 45 years, and was later followed by an economic slowdown due to the pandemic. Covid-19 has created havoc for the economy.
